Project Songbird combines the narrative focus and atmosphere of a walking sim with the the tense, weighty gameplay and puzzles of a survival horror game. On this nightmarish journey, you'll venture into the Appalachian forest, as well as surreal nightmarescapes, all presented in a cinematic, realistically stylized, beautifully realized first-person perspective.
In the forest, you'll spend most of your time exploring, taking in the scenary, and progressing Dakota's story of creative identity and self-actualization. Contrast this with the distorted other-worldy dreamscapes you'll find yourselves in at night where you'll have to fight for your life to make it to the other side.
The puzzles you encounter are more than your standard key hunt. Project Songbird rewards those with an eye for detail, making each puzzle a challenge of creativity and wits.
The combat of Project Songbird offers a variety of approaches inspired by the classics of the survival horror genre. Melee and gunplay is slow and weighty, and ammo is incredibly scarce. However, combat isn't your only option, as you have a multitude of tools at your disposal to aid in sneaking past any creatures that wish to do you harm.
